Game Nights:
Softball Games will begin after the Memorial Day holiday, May 25th

April Optional Practice Nights (U10-U14)
Dates: Tues & Thurs β April 21, 23, 28, 30
Location: EMLL Skinned Field
Practice Times:
U10 & U12: 5:00 PM β 6:30 PM
U14: 6:30 PM β 7:45 PM
For U10/U12, April will be co-op style practices with players working through skill stations to build fundamentals and get back into the flow before the season.
Attendance is optional. We understand many players are finishing up other spring sports.
Team practices will continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays once we move into May, with similar timing and minor adjustments to make sure all teams have field space.

League fees also help cover umpires, field maintenance, equipment, and league operations that keep the season running smoothly.
Players only need to supply softball pants, cleats (no metal), and a glove. EMLL also maintains shared equipment for players who are new to the sport.

NEW FOR 2026 β U8 ROOKIE SOFTBALL SKILLS SESSIONS
EMLL is introducing U8 Rookie Softball Skills Sessions, designed for younger players who want to learn the fundamentals of softball in a fun and supportive environment.
Program Details
Registration Cost: $65
β’ Five 90-min sessions,
β’ Weekend mornings in June and July,
β’ No session July 4th weekend
Sessions will likely take place Saturday mornings, though scheduling may shift to Sundays depending on coach availability.
Participants Receive
β’ Softball visor and shirt
β’ Free player tickets to both the EMLL outings with the Madison Mallards and Madison Nightmares
Sessions focus on throwing, catching, hitting, fielding, base running, and introducing the fundamentals of the game.
We also hope to coordinate a friendly end-of-session scrimmage to give players a fun introduction to live game play.
Players ready for more competitive play are also welcome to register for U10.
SPRING FIELD CLEANUP DAY
Saturday, April 11
Spring cleanup day is how we prepare the fields for the season. Families who are able to help are encouraged to join us β itβs our field and many hands make light work.
If we finish early, we may even get a chance to swing the bats afterward.
COACHES & VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
EMLL Softball relies on volunteers to support our players and teams.
We currently have Head Coaches returning, but we are still looking for volunteers to help in roles such as:
β’ Assistant & Base Coaches
β’ Team Managers & Coordinators helping with communication or occasional carpool coordination
β’ Game Day Volunteers (scoreboard/scorebook)
No prior coaching experience is required and roles can be flexible depending on your availability.
